Innovation Gateway

The Innovation Gateway is a communication channel and platform for dialogue between the innovative business community (the fintech sector) and the financial regulators (ISA, NBRNM, MAPAS, SEC and the Ministry of Finance), aimed at building trust and dialogue between the parties on the relevant aspects of their competences.

“Fintech” is short for “financial technology.” It has become a powerful driver of innovation in the world of finance and has the potential to transform financial services. One definition of fintech is: “technology-enabled financial innovation that could result in new business models, applications, processes or products with an associated material effect on financial markets and institutions and the provision of financial services.”

The main objective of the Innovation Gateway is to facilitate, encourage and support the development of innovation in the field of financial services and products in every company that wants to start an innovative business activity.

The Insurance Supervision Agency (ISA), as the regulator of the insurance market, fully supports technological development that enables financial innovation which could result in new business models, applications, processes or products with an associated material effect on financial markets and institutions and the provision of financial services, in the insurance market segment.
