Actuaries are professionals educated in the fields of mathematics, statistics, probability and finance. Actuaries possess analytical and business skills that they apply in analyzing financial uncertainty and risks for the purposes of complex financial and social systems around the world.
By analyzing past events and assessing current risks, actuaries create models that they use to project future events. In this way they predict the financial implications for business operations and provide significant information to the creators of long-term strategies.
For more than 100 years, actuaries around the world have provided their expertise in risk management in life insurance, non-life insurance, pension insurance and health insurance, and are increasingly engaged in corporate finance, investments, banking, regulation, education, etc.

Pillar 2 – Qualitative requirements for the corporate governance of insurance companies, determining the principles of internal control and the risk management system, carrying out an own risk and solvency assessment, and establishing new principles of supervisory assessment.
Pillar 3 – Market discipline and reporting. The third pillar sets standards for greater transparency in the work of insurance companies, standards for financial reporting and disclosure of data, new rules for reporting to the competent supervisory authority, etc.
For travel of insured persons with motor vehicles in the member countries of the international Green Card system, in which the license plate is not proof of the existence of motor third-party liability insurance, an international Green Card is issued as proof of the existence of that insurance. This card is issued exclusively for vehicles with Macedonian license plates.
The international Green Card provides insurance coverage for damage caused to third parties and property when driving a motor vehicle abroad, that is, in the member countries of the “Green Card” system. This policy is a condition for entering another country with a motor vehicle with Macedonian license plates.
The period of validity of the Green Card is limited by the period of validity of the motor third-party liability insurance policy. Unlike the motor third-party liability insurance policy, and in the interest of legal certainty for injured parties, the Green Card insurance fully covers both of the stated days – the day on which the insurance begins and the day on which its validity expires.

A document that regulates the relationship between the insured and the insurer.
Under the insurance contract, the policyholder undertakes to pay a certain compensation (premium) to the insurer, and the insurer undertakes, if the insured event occurs, to pay the policyholder or a third person a certain sum of money or to do something else.
A form that is completed when the insurance contract is concluded. It must contain all relevant features on the basis of which the subject of the insurance, the sum insured, the insurance premium, the risks against which the subject is insured, and the beginning and end of the insurance contract can be determined.
The insurance premium consists of the technical premium and a part of the premium for carrying out the insurance business. The technical premium is the part of the premium intended for meeting the obligations under insurance contracts
The tariff determines the amount of the premium for the corresponding risk contained in each type of insurance. In general, every tariff contains:
– the subject of the insurance,
– general provisions (premium, bases for calculating the premium, the period for which it is calculated, method of payment…),
– surcharges and discounts,
– individual provisions (bases for tariffing, area of application)
– determination of premium rates.
The insurance terms are the basic instructions for the work of the insurance company. Each type of insurance has corresponding terms under which the insurance is carried out. The terms contain:
- the type of insurance,
- general insurance provisions,
- the start and end of the insurer’s obligation,
- payment of the premium,
- what the subject of the insurance is,

- determination (assessment) of the amount of compensation for damage,
- special notes (specifics) for a particular type of insurance…
The insured is an individual or legal entity in whose name the insurance contract is issued, providing coverage against an unwanted risk. In practice, it most often happens that the insured is at the same time the policyholder. There are situations in which other people’s property is exposed to risk, and a third party (the policyholder) has an interest in having it insured. For example, in property insurance the policyholder does not always have to be the owner of the insured property. When insuring an apartment, the policyholder does not have to be the owner of the apartment, because the apartment may be rented out for use over a longer period. In insurance of persons against the consequences of an accident, a parent can insure their children or their spouse.
The event in respect of which the insurance is concluded (the insured event) must be future, uncertain, and independent of the exclusive will of the policyholder. The insurance contract is void if, at the moment of its conclusion, the insured event had already occurred, or was occurring, or it was certain that it would occur, or if the possibility of it occurring had already ceased by then.
If it is agreed that the insurance will cover a certain period preceding the conclusion of the contract, the contract will be void only if, at the moment of its conclusion, the interested party knew that the insured event had already occurred, or that the possibility of it occurring had already ceased.
The insurer is an insurance company that, by concluding an insurance contract, undertakes to pay compensation for damage, that is, to pay the agreed sum of money to the insured.

The document is clearly separated from the company’s promotional material and must contain the following elements:

- What are the consequences if the company is unable to make a payout?;
- What are the costs associated with the product, and how much are they?;
- Options for early termination of the contract and the consequences;
- Information on submitting objections and complaints; and
- Other relevant information.
Start of the insurance
Unless otherwise agreed, the insurance contract takes effect from the twenty-fourth hour of the day indicated in the policy as the day the insurance begins, until the end of the last day of the period for which the insurance was agreed. If the duration of the insurance is not determined by contract, either party may terminate the contract on the due date of the premium, notifying the other party in writing no later than 3 months before the due date of the premium. If the contract is concluded for a period longer than 5 years, either party may, after the expiry of that period and with a notice period of 6 months, declare to the other party in writing that it is terminating the contract.

The annual premium is determined according to the type and characteristics of the motor vehicle, in accordance with the Tariff for compulsory traffic insurance, and with the application of an appropriate bonus for no claims or malus for claims caused in a previous period. In addition to the basic insurance, the motor third-party liability policy can be supplemented with auto accident cover (insurance of the driver and passengers against the consequences of an accident) and auto glass cover (partial casco insurance – glass breakage)

Solvency II is a regulatory framework for capital adequacy and risk management of insurance companies in the European Union.
The main objectives of “Solvency II” are: greater protection of the interests of policyholders, greater transparency, and greater comparability and competitiveness of insurance services markets in the EU. This regulatory framework takes into account the novelties in the field of risk management, corporate governance and financial reporting in insurance companies.
The process of applying “Solvency II” is carried out through four levels:[2] The first level relates to the “Solvency II” Directive (Directive 2009/138/EC), which, on the proposal of the European Commission and after consulting EIOPA (the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority), was adopted by the European Parliament and the Council of Ministers on May 5, 2009. The application of this directive then proceeded through the drafting of specific measures adopted by the European Commission in October 2014. These measures constitute the second level of application of “Solvency II.” The third level includes the recommendations and principles for conducting supervision that EIOPA adopted in various legal forms by December 2015. During 2015, EU member states adjusted their national legislation in order to harmonize it with the Directive and with EIOPA’s recommendations, and the European Commission supervised that process. In this way the fourth stage in the application of “Solvency II” was completed. The “Solvency II” regulatory regime began to apply in EU member states on January 1, 2016.
